Your medical profile
You can link your Tap2Tag medical profile to this device, this will allow first-responders to scan the device with NFC, QR or can even enter your device code at www.tap2.me to obtain crucial medical information in an emergency.
Here is an example of what may appear when somebody scans the wristband
Technical information
The wristbands contain an NXP NTAG203 chip (168 bytes). The chips are locked to prevent over-writing of the information. Any attempt to over write the data will invalidate the data and make the wristband inactive. The wristbands have no internal source of power and rely on the NFC data transfer abilities of an NFC enabled device to access the information on the chip.
Material
The wristband is made from a silicone rubber composite along with a zinc/nickel alloy composite plate (with epoxy resin protecting the printing on the face of the plate) This wristband is not suitable for anyone with a latex allergy or zinc/nickel allergy
Durability
The wristbands are tough, really tough. We have taken a wristband diving in the Red Sea to a depth of 30 metres. They worked first time when we arrived back on the dive boat. Hence they are waterproof! We have passed the wristband through a medical autoclave reaching temperatures of 135C. Again they worked first time. In fact we have run the same wristband through the autoclave10 times and the device continued to work. We have driven over the wrist band in a car, boiled it in water, frozen it in a block of ice and shouted abusive at it too. Each time it has come through with flying colours.
Suggested uses
Anyone with a medical condition, allergy or who may need to advise healthcare professionals of particular medications they are taking should consider wearing a wristband. However anyone undertaking a sport (subject to the regulations of that sport) should consider whether the use of a Tap2Tag Medical would assist paramedics in the event of an emergency. Details such as your full name, address and emergency contacts may be stored on the device even if you have no known medical problems. We have considered many possible uses of the devices...
